Midnight Snacking

... With my colleagues! Not much healthy snacking where we went, but we all ate plenty. De-stressing after work - WHEW! It was fun - no, not work, the night-time snack!

We should do it again, guys!

Whew!

This is my first break in 2 months from work, meaning, able to do personal business. I'm not off today but the day is too gorgeous not to enjoy the sun while still running errands. Plus, after having been "incommunicado" for a long while, I finally felt ready to go out again. It's been so hectic, so stressful at work - short staff, sick calls, rush, rush, rush!!! Sheer exhaustion! This is it for me. Not worth it! I'm cutting my workdays. I've been neglecting my music and that's bad. Music is my life!

You read my post from yesterday? Word For the Day - Stillness. I saw this word one after the other in 2 different articles within a few minutes of each other. When things like this happens, Nature is trying to say something. And we've got to listen.

Thank you, Father Nature. Speak to me for I'm listening.

P.S.
Don't you notice, when Nature tries to tell us something, it speaks soft, like a whisper or an inner voice or in silence, short and easy. But when we ignore, it speaks to us loud and sometimes painful, like in accidents, disasters, and so on. Sadly, sometimes we wait for such things to happen before we learn our lessons. And when we still don't, history repeats itself until we finally learn. I'd rather listen to God's whispers. They're soothing...

AMEN.

What is Yagya Again?

A few posts below, I linked an article on yagya from a religious point of view. Here's a scientific explanation of yagya by Dr. John Hagelin, "Yagya is a technology of sound. It employs the chemistry of sound, the scientific fact that through sound, you can change anything into anything." - great videos! Watch them.

Comment

One thing I beg to disagree with on the handbook here is #2 -
In Ayurveda, the heaviest meal should be lunch as it is when our digestive fire, agni, is at its peak; hence, strongest, like the sun is at 12 noon. Sadly, in this culture, where everything is fast-paced, rushed and the like, no one has time to sit down and enjoy a good lunch, so we seem to settle for snacks here and there. There are healthy snacks but there are also junk food, so it's a matter of choice, although sometimes, also a matter of what's handy at the moment. Remember, life here is rushed, so sometimes we just grab whatever we can!
HANDBOOK 2012

Yagya

I can't explain in plain English what a yagya is. A ritual, an offering, a prayer derived from the Vedas is called a yagya. Derived from the Vedic Sanskrit which constitutes the oldest scriptures of Hinduism, it is religious in practice. A scientific point of view comes from Maharishi Yagya. I like it 'cause I always want an explanation. It just satisfies my curiosities. Somehow I compare the Vedas to the New Testaments. The Vedas is not religious, but from it, formed the basis for Hinduism. Jesus didn't found Christianity, but from his teachings came about the religion.

There are many kinds of yagyas and I believe one of the first I had done was called Surya Yagya, a personal special 2012 New Year gift to myself, a beautiful wonderful experience!

Way to start the New Year!

Afterword

Indeed, life is here to enjoy! So... BE PRESENT.

BE HAPPY, HEALTHY, AND BE PRESENT.

Maharishi Says,

"Keep your desire turning back within and be patient.
Allow the fulfilment to come to you. Gently resist the temptation to chase your dreams into the world, pursue them in your heart until they disappear into the Self, and leave them there. It may take a little self-discipline, be simple, be kind, stay rested. Attend to your own inner-health and happiness.
Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower and draws all good things towards you. Allow your love to nourish yourself as well as others. Do not strain after your needs of life - it is sufficient to be quietly alert and aware of them.
In this way life proceeds more naturally, effortlessly.
Life is here to enjoy."

Looking Back and Moving Forward

As I look back to what I've done and not done, undone, redone and on and on in the past year or so, and move on to thinking, dreaming, reaching my goals, achieving and accomplishing this year and on, I remember an ad I saw on a window display of Ralph Lauren Store recently - BE PRESENT.

I liked it! It hit me good. It can mean a lot - being current, trendy, noticeable, whatever the store wants to convey fashion-wise. For me, it's all that and more. It's NOW - Here and Now - this very moment!

I really like it. Yes, I know what I want in life, but the past is past and the future is future. As the saying goes, "The best way to predict the future is to create it."
I will create it now. I create it now. Create it now.

That's my New Year's resolution - BE PRESENT.

BE PRESENT.
