Once in 800 Years!

Whether it brings money or not, a good luck wish is always good!
Happens only once in 800 years!
Surprised smile
Chinese numerology and Feng Shui for 2011.
This year we are going to experience four unusual dates: 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11, and that's not all; Take the last two digits of the year you were born and the age you will be this year and the result will add up to 111 for everyone!!!! This is the year of MONEY. Also, this year, October will have 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays & 5 Saturdays. This happens only once every 823 years. These particular years are known as Moneybag years. The proverb goes that if you send this to eight good friends, money will appear in the next four days, as is explained in the Chinese feng shui. Those who don't continue the chain, won't receive. It's a mystery, but it's worth a try. Good luck to you. This only happens
once in 800 years.

The Other Side of Steve Job's Passing

Still on the topic of health and wealth, a musician friend's comment on Steve Job's death got me into deep thinking. Remembering his life, we think about his genius, his legacy and more. The other side of the coin is, with all the money he had and the best doctors he could afford, they couldn't save him. Although, yes, they did prolong his life a few more years considering pancreatic cancer is fast and deadly.

His billions of dollars can definitely help in research for the cure of cancer. Too bad he won't be there to see the dawn.

Indeed, Health is Wealth! Nevertheless, Steve Jobs lived his life to the fullest and it was time to go.

Good bye, Steve. Thank you... a billion, trllion, zillion times!!

Feeling Inward

Today I have deep feelings of quietness, patience, peace, wellness, stillness and bliss and I'm savoring it all. Between 2 auspicious days in the ancient Vedic texts today, Day of Dhavantari, bestower of Perfect Health, and Day of Mahalaksmi, bestower of Wealth, Prosperity and Bliss, on the 26th, it's an amazingly deep inwardness I am experiencing as I write. I had a yagya done for me and my mother on these days and I'm sure that had an effect on me inwardly. Hopefully, my mom felt the same way.

BEAUTIFUL!

Maharishi Says,

"Speak Well of Others

Speaking ill of others means first transplant the wrong of his heart in our heart, transplant the wrong of his mind to our mind, and then let that plant grow into a tree until it comes out. Many-fold it comes out. The whole process is dragging to evolution. It drags us down.

If you have not spoken out any wrong of anyone, that means you don’t have any wrong in your heart. This is a measure. We never think ill of others, because if someone has done wrong, why should we bring it in our heart and make our heart impure? It’s not necessary. But if our heart is already impure, it will be picking its like from here and there and strengthening its quality.

There is that proverb: “Birds of the same feather flock together.” If there is filth deposited in the heart, then it will collect more filth from here. Birds of the same feather flock together. And then whatever has been flocked together, it will start to fly out.

One can’t say, “Oh, how can that man behave like that, when he is a meditator?” That means we don’t know how much good has increased in him. We didn’t see him three years ago. There is always an improvement.

We never think anything negative of anyone, particularly because once we are meditating, our thought force is increasing very greatly. And if with this increased thought force we think low of someone, we are pushing him down to be that low.

Never do we think any wrong thoughts of others, nor do we speak them out. Never.

It’s not necessary to use our time and energy of thinking and speaking on something that does not improve our life, that does not help us to grow. It’s not worthwhile.

So spend your energy and get joy, happiness, evolution, more ability to enjoy, more ability to create. In this field this is how we spend our energy and time."

Thank you, Maharishi.

Respite

Yesterday, I went to see Dr. John Hagelin speak at a science conference up north. I've been meditating for nearly 30 years now doing transcendental meditation (TM), but with my job right now, I'm so stressed out I decided to give myself a break from work and see him along with other TMers.

At My Thai Restaurant having dinner and fun! Just what I needed!

At way past midnight now, I better get some sleep or at least go to bed and settle in... and start counting sheep till 4, 5, 6...

Re: Women's Health Quiz

Saw this article on last Sunday's SF Chronicle and some questions were so interesting I thought I'd post them here -

4. Which piece of Mom’s advice has been scientifically found to reduce stress in females?
Correct!
(d). “Call your mother.”
Recent research from the University of Wisconsin suggests that simply hearing Mom’s voice at the end of the line can boost a child’s levels of oxytocin, a bonding hormone that helps reduce stress.

No wonder, no matter how late and tired I come home from work, e.g., just talking to my mother on the phone simply de-stresses me.

5. How many hours of shut-eye per night do women need, on average, for a long, healthy life?
Correct!
(a). 6 hours
A 14-year study by the University of California, San Diego, found that when it comes to longevity, the sweet spot is between five and six and a half hours each night—any more or less could shave time off your life. Scientists say the results should allay anxiety for women who fear they aren’t getting enough zzz’s.

Thank God, with my schedule nowadays, it's good to know 5-6 hours of night sleep is enough. The question is, what good is 5-6 hrs of sleep when I'm awake the whole night and finally get to sleep at 4, 5, 6 in the morning?

13. Which of these is an actual medical condition caused by a women’s fashion trend?
a)Heavy Purse–itis
b)Tingling Thigh Syndrome
c)Stiletto Toe
Correct!
(b). Tingling Thigh Syndrome
Skinny jeans are often to blame for Tingling Thigh Syndrome, a temporary condition that occurs when the nerve running across the outside of your thigh becomes compressed, causing your leg to feel as if it’s gone to sleep, says Dr. Gary Gronseth, chief of neurology inpatient service at the University of Kansas Hospital. You might want to buy those jeggings one size up.

Enough of those tight jeans for me! I remember Maharishi once said that jeans should be thrown into the Atlantic Ocean.

No-Show!

Darn! I could have seen the Blue Angels from my deck but I chose to go down the hill to experience this year's Fleet Week up close and personal, and the show was cancelled - too much fog!

Last night, Norman and I decided to have dinner at the Marina and at first we thought it was a mistake going there 'cause there were so many people in the streets after the Blue Angels Show; hence, crowded restaurants everywhere. But it was a nice night and it was actually great rubbing shoulders with the crowd so alive and animated! Cool night yet warm and ambient!

After today's cancellation, glad we went out last night!

Thank You, Steve

Epilogue

Trying to look for inspiration, I simply made the decision to be happy. I've just changed the lyrics of the song, IF YOU WANNA BE HAPPY -
If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Then just be happy for the rest of your life
And from my personal point of view
There is nothing else you need to do.

How's that!

As a great Russian writer said -

Talk About... Happy??

Just when I thought I had settled into my job, just when I thought, "Finally, I am enjoying," work has become sooooo stressful again - short staff, sick calls, pto's, name it - Yes! Grrrrrr!!
We were discussing things on how to reduce stress at work, and one colleague said, "Just think we have 8 hours to do the job."
I thought that was the greatest advice I've ever heard! Except that 2 hours later, he panicked,"It's so stressful here! Much too much!"

Need I say more?

WELL...

Inspiring... and Inspired!

When I was 5 years old, my Mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life. - | iDigApps – Create Your World

AWESOME!

"Quote of the Day"

‎'' There is no reason not to follow your heart...'' Steve Jobs

"Quote of the Day"

‎"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma -- which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary" -Steve Jobs-

Post Script

I know I've posted this before but here it is again. A great reminder!

10 COMMANDMENTS

10 Commandments.
Great Reading.
Someone has written these beautiful words. Must read and try to understand the deep meaning of it.
They are like the ten commandments to follow in life all the time.

1] Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.
2] So a Car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on.
3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4] All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.
5] Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold!
6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!
7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.
8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"
9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it takes away today's PEACE.

If you really enjoy this, please pass to others. It may brighten someone's day...

" Our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone,
but those of another praying for us."
