Tofu sausage, (I didn't burn it this time), and rice! Did I burn the rice???? How could I burn the rice in a rice cooker??? Did the rice cooker break?? COME ON!!!! Rice is the only thing I can cook - in a rice cooker, too, so how can I!@#$%^&*!... No, I didn't, it's alright, whew

And hot ginger tea with lemon and honey for a drink!

Care to join me? Life is sweet, you know.

And with organic peas, naturally sweet, as side dish, green is good, life's even sweeter!

... And Sweeter!!

An afternoon in the gym doing some machines, (it was crowded being a holiday so I only did whatever was available). A sauna, a schvitz and a hot shower after! Then meeting hubby at Eliza's for a delicious chinese dinner!

What could be sweeter?!

Now for some "champuy"!

I tell you, too much of a good thing... is a Good Thing!

Sweet Life!

At home on President's Day with hot chocolate, waffles with fresh fruits and sweet maple, tofu sausage ( a lil' burnt, hey, I don't cook, I'm used to being served!) for late brunch! Day off, what more could I ask for!

Aah, what a life!

Message for the Day

Here's another keeper. Actually, there are pictures of beautiful children that come with the message, I'm sure you've seen them on-line a thousand times but somehow the images are removed for security reasons -

Don't take life so seriously!

DANCE

KISS A LOT!

RELAX IN NATURE

HAVE FUN
AND BE HAPPY!!!!

On a T-shirt...

Too much of a good thing... is a GOOD THING! - love it!

Message for the Day

Life is short,
Break the rules,
Forgive quickly,
Kiss slowly,
Love truly,
Laugh uncontrollably,
And never regret anything that made you smile.

To All My Wonderful Sisters In Life!!!

Every now and then I get something on my email that I like sharing here 'cause it's so true! It's about being a woman and being "with the girls!!" Yes, we have our families. We have our friends. And that's beautiful! But there's something about womanhood - our girlfriends, be it our Mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, all the women in our lives who create a bond, the Sisterhood! It's special! The love and support are extraordinary! It's fun! It's pure! It's such a joy! No one can take that away from us! This is a keeper. Here's an excerpt -

This says it all...

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day,
drinking iced tea and visiting with her mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter.

'Don't forget your sisters,' she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. 'They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them.'

'Remember that 'sisters' means ALL the women...your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives too. 'You'll need other women. Women always do.'

What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman thought. Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup!

Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her mother. She kept contact with her sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her mother really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world, here is what I've learned:
THIS SAYS IT ALL:
Time passes.

Life happens.

Distance separates.

Children grow up.

Jobs come and go.

Love waxes and wanes.

Men don't do what they're supposed to do.

Hearts break.

Parents die.

Colleagues forget favors.

Careers end.

BUT.........

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away
than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life
will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you....Or come in and carry you out.
Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,
Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended
family: all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and
neither would I. When we began this adventure called
womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or
sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we
would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still. Pass this on
to all the women who help make your life meaningful.
I just did. Short and very sweet:

There are more than twenty angels in this world.
Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds. Nine are
playing. And one is reading her email at this
moment...

Happy days!
Don't break this; it's working.

... Priceless

The other day, one of my colleagues at work had a birthday and she invited everybody, including me, to eat out and celebrate after. Big spenders, I tell ya! Well, we're all earning well so we can afford to indulge every now and then. But more than that, being the new kid on the block and to be invited... priceless! It made me feel welcome and that I belong!!

Since then, it's been much easier at work. I'm happier and loving it!

Thank ya'll! I'm speechless...

Aah, Love Hints Again!

Well, it's no surprise as this is the month of LOVE approaching VALENTINE'S DAY! Yesterday at the mall, a young lady passed me by very closely with a tote bag which read - ISN'T LOVE GRAND! As if Love passed by to touch me! Just hinting, you know...Aah, Love, Love, Love!!!

When I was little, I wrote a music piece with that exact title, ISN'T LOVE GRAND!, one of my first compositions. Boy, I wish I could remember the tune! Hope it comes back... in this lifetime anyway.

And, really,

ISN'T LOVE GRAND!!

That Feeling of Warmth Again!

What a feeling! You can count the days in San Francisco when the weather is not just sunny but delightfully, incredibly WARM!! This is one of those days. I have a gig today but forget it for now. I'm gonna enjoy the sun at my deck with hot chocolate, a toast and strawberries!

Who was that who said that the coldest winter he had ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco - Mark Twain? Not today, my friend. It's gorgeous!!

Come, join me...

Something Beautiful!

Yup, something beautiful happened to me the other night at work. Can't explain it but calmness took over me. And it wasn't just work-related. It was deeper than that. It was like, all of a sudden, everything that's been happening to me lately fell into place. Then joy took over.

Absolutely wonderful!!
